At various locations in the Arboretum and in the wastlands , a knee-high fence encloses small patches of land. Inside the enclosure is a bench. Each of these protected 'biotopes' is different. For exmple, one contains a large amount of grass, there is one with river clay, and an apple tree stands in another. The fences work as a magnifying glass on the oherwise inconspicuous pieces of land.
